Gary & Rachel de León: Missionaries
Gary and Rachel de León have been serving the Lord in Guatemala since 2011, alongside their two sons Xavier and Iker. Gary, a native Guatemalan, and Rachel, a Brazilian, met while studying at a Bible college in West Michigan. They both shared the same passion for missions and upon graduating moved to Guatemala and began serving with at-risk youth in the impoverished areas of Guatemala’s capital city. After years of ministry in that area of the country, they decided to change their focus to now begin working with refugees that were displaced by the eruption of a volcano in Guatemala in June of 2018. Their focus in this new project is to reach the refugee community for Christ and empower the youth in their education and future careers through a vocational training center. Through it all, as a family they remain committed to serving wholeheartedly wherever God will send them and using their passions and skills for working with youth.
Micah 6:8 – “He has showed you, O man, what is good; and what does the Lord require of you but to do justice, and to love kindness, and to walk humbly with your God?”
